BUDDING writers had the chance to pick up some top tips thanks to a visit from author Simon Morse.

Children at St Stephen’s First School took part in a workshop with the writer of The Adventures of Rocket Kid, where he gave them advice on how to plan their own story and improve their writing.

A spokeswoman said: “The children also had the opportunity to draw Rocket Kid and were shown techniques to create and illustrate their own characters.

“All of the children thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and produced some amazing stories.”
