MEMBERS and supporters of a borough charity will be sleeping rough in the town to highlight homelessness.

YMCA Worcestershire staff, volunteers and residents will be sleeping outside for one night as part of its sponsored Sleep Easy event next Friday (April 11).

The challenge will run from 7pm until 7am at Willow Trees Community Centre in Loxley Close, Church Hill.

It aims to raise awareness of the importance of emergency accommodation for young people and prevent them from becoming homeless, while boosting funds for services in the town and surrounding area.

The YMCA team also wants to encourage residents, groups and businesses to take part in the night, and for those who are unable to join in they can sponsor someone else to or a teddy to sleep out with everyone else.

Anyone taking part will need to bring warm clothing and cardboard boxes to sleep in. Warm drinks will be available throughout the night.

Visit www.justgiving.com/worcestershireymca to donate, or visit the YMCA at Gordon Anstis House on Loxley Close to complete a teddy sponsor form.
