PARENTS in Redditch who want to find out how they can keep their children safer online can go along to a free presentation being held at Ridgeway Middle School at 7pm on Tuesday (April 29).

The hour-long E-Safety event outlines online risks facing youngsters, including cyberbullying and personal privacy.

The talk, being given by online safety consultant Brett Laniosh from Catshill Learning Partnerships, demystifies technology, such as instant messaging, chat, virtual worlds and social media sites including Facebook.

Two similar events held in Bromsgrove were hailed a great success.

Brett said teachers and parents needed to know that, whilst a great place to learn and be creative, there were also dangers on the Internet that could be averted with a few simple steps.

“It is important anyone who comes into contact with young people or uses social media such as Facebook and Twitter becomes familiar with how to behave online," he added.

To book a place parents can ring the school office on 01527 892867.
