AN APPEAL is being made for models of World War One aircraft to form part of an exhibition commemorating the start of The Great War. The Remembering Redditch's
Fallen Heroes event runs from August 4 - 100 years to the day Britain declared war on Germany - to August 9 at St Philip's Church in Webheath.
It will also feature stories uncovered about soldiers killed during the 1914 to 1918 conflict. Amateur researchers have spent the last 18 months looking into the background of about 400 men killed during the war from Redditch and commemorated on memorials at St Stephen's, St Luke's, Astwood Bank, St Philip's and St George's churches as
well as those buried in Plymouth Road.
To help support the exhibition artefacts and models from the conflict are being sought to go on show, particularly of aircraft.
Anyone who can help should contact Philip Jarvis on 01527 544068. More information about the exhibition will be released at a later date.
