A GUIDE dog has been named after a Wythall school.

Pupils at Meadow Green Primary raised more than £1,800 to name a guide dog puppy which was dubbed ‘Meadow’ in their honour.

The cash was raised through a combination of cake sales, jam jars filled with loose change and creating the Guide Dog logo out of coins. A competition was held to choose the puppy’s name.

And as a special treat it was brought in to meet them recently.

Catrin Rod, community fund-raiser for the Guide Dogs Birmingham and Three Counties Mobility Team, said: “It is only through support such as this we are able to maintain our lifelong commitment to blind and partially sighted people in the community as the guide dog service relies purely on voluntary income.”
