A TRIO were arrested after police followed a tracking app on an iPad stolen during a robbery.

The device was taken from a man in his early 20s who was assaulted while walking near the Church Hill Way bus route at 2.25pm today (Thursday).

He was headbutted and punched in the face by a white man who ran from the scene.

Detectives tracked the iPad's movement using the app and, following a chase on foot by officers in the Ipsley Street and Lodge Road area, three men were arrested on suspicion of robbery.

They are currently being questioned at Kidderminster Police Station and the stolen iPad has been recovered.

Det Sgt Justin Taylor said: "The fact that we were able to find the iPad so quickly shows the value of having tracker apps on devices of this nature and was certainly a big help during our operation this afternoon. We would encourage people to download these apps on to their smartphones and tablets."

Anyone with any information should call police on 101, quoting reference number 380-S-270314, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
