AN ALCESTER man celebrated reaching a special milestone with a trip to a horse racing yard.
As well as a party at Cherry Trees Care Home, where he has lived for the last five years, Alfred Weaver was taken to Dan Skelton’s Racing to mark his 100th birthday.
Alfred was born on March 15, 1914 in Oldbury and was married for 71 years to Florence, having two children, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His son Daniel told the Standard Alfred loved horse racing and football, supporting West Bromwich Albion, as well as gardening and walking.
