A FORD Focus was stolen from the driveway of a home in Brockhill after thieves broke-in to the owner's house and stole the keys.

The blue car, with the registration BF63 ZYD, was taken from Shireland Lane after the property was broken into between 10.45pm last Wednesday (March 12) and 5.30am the following day.

A man, described as in his late teens or early 20s, was seen acting suspiciously outside a neighbouring property where a failed attempt to break into a similar car was made. Detectives are linking the two incidents.

The man was described as 6ft tall, of slight build and was wearing a navy or black Helly Hansen or Berghaus, Harrington-style jacket and either trainers or Converse pumps.

Det Con Mark Lazenby, from North Worcestershire CID, said: "It appears the thieves were targeting the car that was taken as nothing else was taken from the property apart from the keys to the Focus before it was driven away.

"It is highly likely the sighting of someone looking through the windows of an almost identical car in the same street and trying to break in there is connected to this. If anyone else saw a man of that description around there, or anyone else acting suspiciously, then please pick up the phone and let us know."

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact Det Con Lazenby at Redditch Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 43-S-130314.
