BRAINBOXES are being urged to get their thinking caps on for the first event in the annual Astwood Bank Carnival calendar.

The committee is set to host a quiz night at Ridgeway Middle School on Friday, April 4, with all funds going to charities and groups with the area.

Chairman Jenny Lightfoot said: “The quiz nights have always been one of our more popular events and with over 20 teams entering each of the last three quiz nights, we are expecting a great turnout.

“It’s a great evening, a good laugh and an event that residents of Astwood Bank can walk to, and it raises money for local charities and groups.”

Doors will open at 7.30pm with the event starting at 8pm at a cost of £10 per team of four. A licensed bar and snacks will be available as well as a raffle.

Visit astwoodbankcarnival.co.uk for more information about events including the carnival itself which will take place on Saturday, July 12, with the theme of ‘Commonwealth’.
