Offering support for quitters

SMOKERS were given advice on how to ditch the habit at a Matchborough pharmacy as part of a national campaign.

Staff from Stock and Lindsay were on hand to offer practical support to help those wanting to become smoke free as part of national No Smoking Day on Wednesday (March 12).

The Matchborough Way store offers the service as part the All About Health Programme which promotes healthy living all year round.

Pharmacist Jon Worton said quitting was a difficult journey but people using the structured support were five times more likely to succeed than those that go it alone.

“By popping into the pharmacy we can discuss your individual needs, talk through the products available to support you and offer ongoing encouragement and tailored advice to help you stop smoking for good.”
