A GARDEN centre boss will be getting on his bike to help raise funds to create outdoor spaces at children’s hospices.

Boyd Douglas-Davies, chief executive officer at Studley Garden Centre, is set to cycle for as long as he can today (Friday) as part of the Run, Row, Ride six-hour challenge.

He will be sponsored per 30-minute session, plus a bonus if he completes all six hours, with all proceeds going to Garden Re-Leaf Day’s chosen charity Greenfingers, which is aiming to create ten more gardens at hospices.

He will be joined by the team from the centre, alongside colleagues from Hilltop and The Garden Stores, who will be hoping to run, row and ride 240 miles from 9.30am.

Mr Douglas-Davies, who also founded the annual Re-Leaf Day, said: “This is quite a challenge but we’re all looking forward to it and hope to raise as much as possible for this very worthwhile cause. We’re enormously grateful to those who have already sponsored us and would welcome any additional support and encouragement from visitors to the centre this Friday.”
