Man suffers burns after crash in Studley

A MAN suffered serious burns to his hands and legs after running away from a car crash in Studley.

Police were called to the scene in Green Lane shortly after 5.10pm on Monday (March 10) following reports a pedestrian had been in collision with a black Volkswagen Tiguan and had run off across the fields.

A search was made of the area using police dogs and an air support unit, as well as officers on the ground. One of the search dogs found the 25-year-old man, who had been in contact with an electricity pylon.

He was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for treatment.
