WOODROW Library was one of many stops in a roadshow to promote a new service to support families in the borough.

Visitors to the Woodrow Centre site could find out about schemes and groups on offer to them and their children as part of a promotion event for the new Early Help Service.

The service, which is government funded and run by Redditch Borough Council, aims to reach out to parents, carers and local organisations to give youngsters aged up to 19 the best start in life.

It includes offering parenting courses, family learning, stop smoking schemes and family support.

Families also enjoyed a variety of activities including play dough, crafts, nail and face painting as well as a colouring competition.

Louise Hall, community development co-ordinator, said: “This has been a fantastic way to get out into the communities of Redditch and get to know our local people and for them to get to know us.”
