A BOROUGH band are celebrating after sailing through to the semi-finals of a Midlands competition.

Music Like Lemons are set to play at the semi-final of the Wolverhampton Battle Of The Bands at the city’s Slade Rooms on March 16 after coming second in the quarter finals.

They formed in 2010 and have been gigging since 2012, playing at Morton Stanley Festival, the O2 Academy3 and the Pride of Redditch awards as well as being played on BBC Hereford and Worcester and BBC West Midlands.

If they are successful, the group will win a host of prizes including a support slot with an established act, a professional music video, a photography shoot and three professional recorded tracks.

Bass player Roy Coles said: “The judges seemed to like our originality and enjoyed what they heard, which is always nice to hear.”

Tickets are available from the band, Death Or Glory Records or the Wolves Civic website.
