Taxi driver bitten during assault

A TAXI driver was bitten and a woman left needing hospital treatment after an assault on Unicorn Hill.

The incident occurred at 8.20pm on Sunday (March 9) with police called to reports of a woman being unconscious.

A 19-year-old was taken to the Alex with swelling, a cut lip and a superficial cut to her arm while the taxi driver, aged 48, was not seriously hurt but was bitten on the arm.

Officers arrested a Birmingham man, aged 29, on suspicion of assault. He has now been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
