A GROUP from Redditch took a trip to Parliament to mark International Women’s Day.

Labour Parliamentary spokeswoman Rebecca Blake and 11 women from the borough toured Parliament followed by a discussion about issues facing women including the gender pay gap, domestic violence and the rising cost of living.

Ms Blake said: “International Women’s Day is a perfect excuse to bring local women together, learn more about our democracy and discuss relevant issues facing women.

“As well as raising issues affecting women, IWD is a good time to commend women who are very often the people who are holding families and communities together.”
