MORE THAN £4,000 worth of tools have been given to a Hunt End school as part of new sponsorship.

St Augstine’s Catholic High School’s design technology department received the new power tools and accessories from Makita Ltd following a partnership with the company.

It means students taking part in the lessons will now be trained to safely use the equipment as well as being guided on how to use them to speed up the amount of time spent on their coursework project.

A spokeswoman from the school said they were grateful for the equipment and thanked Andrew Farrell and Paul Woodall from the company for their hard work in securing the sponsorship, as well as Edward Downs from TW Engineering.
