RESIDENTS are being urged to be on their guard to stop anti-social behaviour returning to a Redditch district.

Police say they have not experienced trouble in Headless Cross for over two years following work to tackle the issue but now gangs of up to 20 youths have been reported roaming the streets over half term.

Officers became aware of the groups on the first Saturday of the school break, with residents also calling to report two incidents, neither of which were serious. But officers have asked residents to speak to them if they see any large groups to stop any future problems occurring.

A message sent by Neighbourhood Watch said although they were not actually committing acts of anti-social behaviour, there were around 20 youths congregating which was ‘worrying’.

PC Simon Worley said: “We want to hear about any problems that there are because we haven’t had any large scale anti-social behaviour in Headless Cross for some time.

“We are now monitoring the situation in light of these incidents and are keen to nip any problems in the bud.”

Anyone with any information should call police on 101.
