PLENTY of humour and romance will be on offer in a performance of The Merry Widow.

Astwood Bank Operatic Society will be taking to the stage of the Palace Theatre with a production of the popular French story.

Set in 1900 Paris, the tale concerns a rich widow and her countrymen's attempts to find her the right husband.

Familiar songs such as Vilia, You'll find me at Maxim's, and the Merry Widow Waltz will all be performed along with the Parisian Can-Can.

The show runs from Wednesday to Saturday, March 12 to 15 with tickets costing between £12 and £14.
