A WALL was smashed down and six people left needing hospital treatment after a car crash in Ivor Road.

Emergency services were called to the incident shortly before 4.45pm yesterday (Thursday) which involved a Vauxhall Corsa and a Honda Civic.

Two rapid response vehicles, five ambulances, two fire engines and police all attended.

The driver of the Honda took her young son to hospital as he had a pre-existing heart condition.

The Corsa driver, a 19-year-old man, was taken to the Alexandra Hospital with abdominal and back pain and a 15-year-old was taken to the Birmingham Children's Hospital with suspected lower leg fractures.

A further three passengers were admitted to the Alex, one with a suspected broken wrist and ankle and a suspected fractured pelvis, a second with bruising to the ankle and one with a broken arm.

The six-foot garden wall was cordoned off due to fears it could collapse onto the pavement.
