BATCHLEY pupils will be helping raise money for sports equipment during the tenth year of a supermarket scheme.
A team from Sainsbury’s visited Holyoakes Field First School to launch this year’s Active Kids project, which sees vouchers collected in return for sporting donations.
The school collected more than 10,000 vouchers last year which were put towards purchasing basketball and PE equipment.
Headteacher Carol Newton said: “Joining Active Kids has made a massive difference to our teaching of the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle.
“We’re delighted by the support from Sainsbury’s customers and it’s helped provide us with fantastic equipment and experiences which will last us for several years to come.”
Redditch store manager Sharon Neal added: “Throughout the last ten years, our customers have played a key part in helping young children understand cooking and healthy eating from a young age.”
