A BLACK, white and red themed event at Studley Castle saw nearly £500 raised for mental health services.

Hosted by Redditch Mental Health Action Group, last Friday’s (February 7) event aimed to get guests thinking about Valentine’s Day as not just an event to celebrate romantic love, but to focus on community and self-esteem.

Sarah Maries, one of the organisers, said: “We have been hosting events at poignant times of the year such as World Mental Health Day, Christmas and now Valentine’s Day. It was a great evening which celebrated coming together and focusing on the wider meaning of the word ‘love’.”

Money raised will be used to fund mental health projects in Redditch.
