VISITORS flocked to St Leonard’s Church in Beoley over the weekend for the annual snowdrop event.

As well as the flowers outside, baptism records dating back to the 1850s were on show alongside past records of Beoley First School, work from current pupils and an exhibition from the Mothers’ Union.

Organiser Joyce Bush said: “We were thrilled to see so many people brave the elements to come and see us - quite a few familiar faces but also visitors from further afield such as Cumbria.”

The event also marked the launch of a photographic competition, with residents invited to submit snaps of the church and grounds before October which will go on display at next year’s festival.
