A POLICE car was rammed by a stolen vehicle after being spotted in Wythall.

Officers in a marked BMW police car spotted the black Land Rover Defender about 4.30am in Packhorse Lane on Friday (February 7).

The vehicle, which had been stolen from a drive in Bittell Road in Barnt Green about half an hour before, pulled into a driveway in nearby Middle Lane and tried to turn around but was blocked by the police car.

The driver then rammed the BMW out of the way and made off.

The two officers were shaken but not injured, but it is believed the police car has been written off.

The driver was described as a white man with dark hair and the Land Rover had the registration number KU02 CHL.

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact PC Stu Collins on 0300 333 3000 quoting incident 41-s-070114 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
