A TEAM from Alvechurch Middle School soared to success building a prototype rocket during a competition.
The group of six Year 8 pupils competed against four other middle schools from the district in the Institute of Engineering and Technology’s Faraday Challenge.
They were tasked with building a rocket for a mission to Mars and a vehicle to transport it to the launch pad.
The rocket then had to be launched and complete a test flight. Judges commented on their great teamwork, innovative design and detailed notes.
The team received Amazon vouchers, a trophy and are in with a chance of going forward to the national final later in the year.
