A DROWNING prevention charity near Alcester hosted more than 60 guests from across Europe to share lifesaving tips.
The Royal Life Saving Society UK, which is based in Broom, met with representatives from Italy, Bulgaria and the Netherlands for the International Lifesaving Federation of Europe’s commission meeting.
Topics including lifeguarding, drowning prevention and open water safety management as well as shared drowning statistics and youth exchange opportunities were all discussed.
Di Standley, RLSS UK chief executive, said: “The events over the weekend were a great success and it was an honour to welcome colleagues form across Europe and share ideas and practice with the aim of, together, increasing water safety education and reducing drownings.
The next commission meetings will take place in January 2015.
