YOUNGSTERS from Crown Meadow First School in Alvechurch took part in ‘Sign2Sing’ on Wednesday (February 5).

The whole school - staff and children - joined in with the nationwide event which sees participants learn sign language to a song and perform it at the same time as other schools across the country.

Everyone who sang and performed the actions also wore a scarf to emulate the charity’s mascot.

A total of £170 has been raised for SignHealth by Crown Meadow with more expected to come in.

Teacher Harriet Windsor said: “We are so proud of our children for putting in so much effort to learn the sign language to the ‘Get up and Sign’ song.”

She thanked everyone who made a donation and took part in the event and added she was hoping Crown Meadow and the other schools across the country had managed to set a new world record.
