Parents meeting following nursery arrest

By Harriet Ernstsons Friday 07 February 2014 Updated: 07/02 13:21

PARENTS at a Crabbs Cross nursery where a staff member was arrested met with police and the senior team last night (Thursday).

Bright Kids owner Tricia Wellings and other staff answered questions to reassure children were safe and well cared for following the arrest on Tuesday (February 4). Police have not yet revealed the nature of the alleged offence.

Following the meeting, Ms Wellings said Det Insp Dean Jones who was leading the investigation had said West Mercia Police had no concerns for the safeguarding of children and no children were at risk.

Parents were also assured they would be kept informed of the outcome of the police investigation and any subsequent action, with the owner taking the opportunity to reinforce the nursery's support of the investigation.

Anyone with any concerns should call the management on 01527 452430 at any time or police on the non-emergency number 101.
