A PAIR of former Alcester Grammar School students will be braving great heights twice in the space of a fortnight.

Bartholomew Oram and Lewis Owen are set to take on a skydive in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society this March followed by setting off just two weeks later to trek to the Everest Base Camp for Nepalese children’s charity Kidasha.

Both events have been organised by the Leeds RAG Society at Leeds University, where the 18-year-olds now study.

Bartholomew said they both felt they were great challenges to get involved in.

“We will be getting some training done around the Peak District over the next few weeks before we go. We will spend two weeks doing the trek on Everest at quite a slow incline to lower the risk of altitude sickness.

“I am more excited than nervous.”
