A POPULAR brass band will be playing to a different tune with the appointment of a new musical director.
Danny Price has taken charge of Alcester Victoria Silver Band following the retirement of Gordon Hartley-Bennet.
The composer, musician and arranger brings with him a wealth of experience performing with both local and internationally acclaimed big and brass bands. He has also composed and arranged pieces for well known bands such as the Black Dyke Band and ‘test’ pieces for national brass contests both home and abroad.
The band - formed in 1897 in an Alcester coffee house - next performs in concert at St Nicholas Church in Alcester on Saturday, March 22 to welcome the arrival of spring.
