A KEY part of a revamped district shopping centre has been officially opened to the public.

Redditch Mayor Wanda King helped open the McColl’s newsagent store off Tanhouse Lane in Church Hill last Saturday (January 25).

The store is the latest business to complete the move into the district’s new £3.55million shopping centre, which also includes a revamped dental practice, enlarged doctor’s surgery and several new retail units.

Work has now started on demolishing and rebuilding the former centre on the opposite side of the road to create a new 51 home residential estate.

The project is expected to be completed by Spring next year.
