A DESIGN student has proved she is a cut above the rest after reaching the finals of a national competition.
Lucinda Holbrook-Hase is one of 20 finalists picked for the Savile Row Training Academy’s National Tailoring and Design Awards.
The Inkberrow Design Centre student beat off hundreds of applicants from across the UK after impressing esteemed judges with her portfolio.
Her work includes minimalist designs for both men and women and focuses on the importance of hidden details such as a suit lining.
The awards aim to celebrate the creative work of recent graduates and students studying design courses, encouraging a fresh vision for the tailoring and fashion industry.
Prizes include cash and work experience on a professional photo shoot and are given out by tailoring businesses such as Dugdale Bros and Co and Menstyle Fashion.
She said: “I am so excited to have been chosen as a finalist, the opportunity to show my designs to people within the industry is invaluable.
“It is a great competition with so many amazing prizes but just the experience of getting through to the final is amazing.”
Winners will be announced on January 31.
