A SHOPLIFTING heroin addict could face up to five years in prison after breaching a CRASBO just over a week after being sentenced.

Samuel Crawley, of Berkeswell Close in Church Hill, was banned from parts of Redditch town centre for five years and from taking drugs in public, at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, January 9.

The 27-year-old was originally handed the CRASBO (Criminal Anti-Social Behaviour Order) following an eight-week prison stretch for possession of cannabis and shoplifting.

Under the order Crawley is not allowed to inject, inhale, smoke or consume any illegal drug and is banned from the Abbey or Trafford Retail Parks, as well as the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, although he is allowed to use the bus station as long as he does not access it via the centre.

But last Friday (January 17) West Mercia Police received two calls from staff at New Look in the centre, claiming they had spotted him.

Due to medical reasons Crawley was not formally arrested but has been summoned to court for a date which is yet to be confirmed.
