Winyates residents ready to recycle

MORE than 50 Winyates residents can now recycle after brand new bin stores were installed.

Those living on Winslow Close were given the new stores, which have the correct bin capacities and are easier to access, by Redditch Borough Council.

The new design aims to encourage residents to recycle more which would mean less rubbish going to landfill in the long run.

The redesign is part of a larger project by the council which will also see footpath and security improvements in the area which will continue over the next few weeks.

Guy Revans, head of environmental services, said: “The location of the old bins meant they were hidden and hard to get to which in turn lead to some cases of fly tipping.

“The new design now means the area is clean, tidy and in line to contribute to higher recycling figures for the borough.”
