AN OFFICE in Alcester has been turned into a working art gallery in what is believed to be the first link up of its kind in the Midlands.
David Lawrence, who runs the myalcester website out of his office on Church Street, has joined forces with local artists Peter Kotka, Cheryl Weaver, Liz Fletcher and Phil Webb, who were all looking for a place to work.
Together they came up with the idea of creating a space where pieces could be put on display and artists could work while retaining it as a working office.
Studio Gallery Alcester, as it has been dubbed, was set up before Christmas and an open day is due to be held tomorrow (Saturday) between 11am and 6pm, where there will be guest artists exhibiting.
Mr Lawrence said: “This is something new for the high street and we are not aware of anything else like this in the Midlands or even further.
“Quite a few pictures have been sold already so it’s working.”
