Great Alne and Haselor schools step up to earn a ‘good’ Ofsted

STAFF and students from two Alcester schools are celebrating after being rated good by Ofsted.

Both Great Alne and Haselor Primary School jumped up to the official ranking following recent inspections after being graded satisfactory previously.

The inspection at Great Alne said all aspects of the school were ‘Good’ including leadership and management, behaviour and safety, while the quality of teaching was reported as ‘Good’ with some ‘Outstanding’ areas.

Headteacher Leslie Hendrie, said the report was a reflection on the staff’s hard work and commitment and showed the children’s achievements and support from parents.

“It is a wonderful report and gives us guidance to aim for ‘Outstanding’ next time round, “ she said.

Teachers and governors from Haselor were also praised for making swift progress and offering a good quality of care and support for children.

The school’s headteacher, Gill Humphriss, was also commended for her strong leadership as well as staff teamwork which helped to create a positive atmosphere for pupils to learn in.

She said: “I am so proud of everyone at Haselor School, children, staff, governors and parents.

“We all work incredibly well together and are determined to provide an amazing environment full of fun and life and this was acknowledged by Ofsted.”
