CHARITY shop bosses are calling on Alcester residents to have a New Year clear out and donate their unwanted items.

The Shakespeare Hospice is appealing for clothing, bric-a-brac and books to stock their High Street shop in the town and raise funds for the organisation.

The independent charity provides specialist care for families affected by life-limiting illness in South Warwickshire and the North Cotswolds.

Adrienne Rostron, head of retail for the charity, said whether it was unwanted Christmas presents or a clear out, the shops across South Warwickshire would gladly accept donations.

“Having a post-Christmas clear out doesn’t have to mean a lot of waste going to landfill,” she said.

“By donating items to our shops you will not only be recycling but also helping us provide care and support to families in your local community.”

The Alcester shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9.30am until 4.30pm.
