Resident invited to view Alcester hospital site plans

ALCESTER residents are invited to have their say on plans to build retirement homes on the former hospital site.

Developers McCarthy and Stone are proposing to build 33 one and two bedroom apartments, as well as five cottages, next to the new health centre on Fairwater Crescent.

A public exhibition of the proposals will be held from 3pm until 7pm at the Jubilee Centre, on St Faiths Road, on Tuesday (January 14), where residents are invited to look at the plans and put any questions to the project team.

A communal garden and car parking are also included in the proposals.

Developers have already met with members of Alcester Town Council as well as some residents to discuss the initial plans and the public exhibition is the next part of the company’s consultation process.

Lorena Brown, regional managing director at McCarthy and Stone, said she wanted to hear from members of the community as well as future homeowners.

“The comments we receive will help us tailor our proposal into something people will want to see, enjoy and call home.”

Anyone who cannot make the exhibition is asked to contact the team at McCarthy and Stone with any questions on 0800 298 7040.
