A WEBHEATH resident is starting the year happier and healthier after losing 6.5 stone.
Ashley Stone joined his wife at the Oakenshaw Weight Watchers class weighing 18st 8lb after looking at old photographs of himself and is now 12st 4st. He was even congratulated by the hospital consultant who performed his hernia operation in December.
The 42-year-old, who works at Mettis Aerospace and now helps out at the meetings to encourage others to continue their weight loss, said: “I can’t begin to tell you how much better I feel as a result of losing 84lbs. From ‘fat bloke’ to increased energy and loads more confidence, I’ve never felt better.
Leader Debbie Onions added: “I am so proud of Ashley. He is proof that you can lose weight and keep it off and still enjoy life, including tempting times like summer holidays, birthdays and celebrations.”
Meetings run at 10am on Sundays and 6pm on Mondays in Oakenshaw Community Centre.
