YOUNG performers have the chance to improve their confidence and social skills at a new theatre group.

Rise And Shine, which starts on January 7, is aimed at five to eight-year-olds to prepare them for performing with the main Palace Youth Theatre group when they get older.

It will be led by Joanne Higgitt, an experienced leader of early years workshops for younger children who works with Jestaminute Community Theatre and Stagecoach.

Liz Sifford, Redditch Borough Council’s youth theatre and arts officer, said: “It is well known that when we get involved in performing arts at a young age, we are more likely to continue participating as we get older. So we are particularly happy to be able to offer this new younger age group at the PYT.”

For more information call 01527 68306 or visit the enrolment evening on January 6 from 6pm to 7pm.
