Six crews battle Redditch house fire

BLACK smoke was seen billowing across Chuch Hill after a house fire broke out.

Firefighters were called to Heronfield Close by the homeowner at 1.05pm today (Thursday).

A total of six engines were sent to the address including three from Redditch, two from Bromsgrove and one from the West Midlands.

On arrival they found a fire in the first and second floor of the terraced house.

Firefighters fought the blaze using breathing equipment and three hose reel jets, as well as two covering jets.

Crews are still at the scene.
