PART of a road has been closed after flooding saw cars unable to get through.
A section of Matchborough Way leading onto Winyates Way, between Arrow Vale and Ipsley schools, was shut earlier today (Monday) by police after residents reported motorists abandoning their cars or mounting the pavement.
Police were called just before 9.15am and made the decision to block off the road shortly after.
Buses are not stopping on Winyates Way, Tillington Close, outside St Gregory's church, Winyates Centre, Ibstock House and part of Moons Moat, instead they are following a diversion via Moons Moat Drive, Battens Drive and Warwick Highway.
A notice has been put up in the bus station and inspector has been in the affected area for most of the day.
Depending on the weather, the diversion could still be in place tomorrow with updates on Diamond's Twitter and Facebook pages.
A spokeswoman said: "The road is still flooded so we are currently still diverting our buses. A car was stuck earlier and the buses were taking in water so it was best to divert. We will have to see how the weather changes into the night and the morning."
