Men charged after drugs raid

TWO MEN have been charged with possessing heroin after a police raid on a house in Fownhope Close.

Janis Ozolins, aged 27 and of Fownhope Close, and Kamaro Dixon, aged 24 and of Oak Tree Avenue, appeared before Worcester magistrates on Saturday (January 4) charged with possessing the Class A drug with intent to supply.

They were remanded in custody ahead of a plea hearing at Worcester Crown Court on April 14.

Both were arrested on Thursday (January 2), shortly after Redditch CID executed a search warrant obtained under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a flat in Fownhope Close. Officers seized heroin which was found in a bag.

The warrant was sought as part of a new West Mercia Police and Warwickshire Police strategy which is designed to continue tackling the impact of drugs on individuals and neighbourhoods, reduce crime associated with drug use and make communities feel safer.
