RESIDENTS from a Redditch care home took a trip down memory lane as their stories were brought to life by a theatre company.

Actors from Vamos Mask Theatre visited Terryspring Court in Smallwood to celebrate residents’ memories and life stories as part of a scheme with the ExtraCare Charitable Trust.

The partnership encourages older people to enjoy a healthier, active and more independent life by inviting residents to take part in performances using full mask, dance, puppetry, and live music to recreate their tales.

Martin Shreeve, chairman of ExtraCare’s board of trustees, said: “This for me is a dream partnership, utilising the inspirational memory and experience of older people amplified through the unique talents and imagination of Vamos Theatre.

A spokeswoman from the care home said: “Everyone had a brilliant day and it was fascinating to hear and see some of our residents’ stories. They really enjoyed themselves.”
