BURGLARS attempted to steal a BMW over New Year from a Birmingham Road property.
The incident happened between 5.10pm on New Year's Eve (Tuesday) and 3.30pm the following day.
It is thought offenders wanted to steal the car parked on the drive and smashed a window of the vehicle but were unable to start it. They then broke into the house and took the keys, but were still unable to start it due to it having a flat battery.
The burglars also stole an old HP laptop which was not in working order, two watches - one an Armani with a silver metal strap and black face worth £200 and the other a fake Breitling with a black plastic strap and silver dial worth £100 - as well as a wallet which was handed into police after being found discarded nearby.
House to house inquiries have been carried out and leaflets distributed in the area.
Anyone with any information should call DC Cheryl Jones on 101, quoting incident reference number 694-s-010114, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
