A MAN had to be treated at a major trauma unit after a fight outside Fever nightclub.

The man in his 20s was knocked down and received serious head and facial injuries when he hit the ground after a fight broke out between a small group of men. He was treated at the scene for serious injuries and transferred by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

Police, an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were called to the incident in Market Place shortly before 2.30am on Sunday (December 22).

Two men, both aged 19, were arrested on suspicion of committing GBH and were released on police bail until January 23 pending further investigations.
