A CREATIVE student is flying high after her design was chosen to appear on a borough company’s Christmas card.
Holyoakes Field First School pupil Katie-Jane Price was picked as the winner of the competition organised by Mettis Aerospace.
It required students to design a card which included a Christmas tree and a plane, with the eight-year-old’s handiwork being sent out across the globe including to companies such as Airbus, Boeing and Rolls Royce.
All 72 children who took part received a selection box, including Ciaran Potter who came second and Amy Chaffin who was third, while Katie-Jane was also given a framed version of her card and arts and crafts goodies.
Philip Hughes, Mettis business development director, said: “This has been a super initiative which has really captured the imagination of all the children involved. We are proud to embrace these local community ties and continue to work with local schools to promote local engineering and manufacturing.”
