A REDDITCH business is spreading some Christmas cheer by offering a free sofa to someone in need.

Dressing Rooms sells good quality ex-display and hardly used furniture from its base on the Lakeside Trading Centre off Beoley Road East.

And in keeping with the spirit of Christmas, owner Sheila Hanna has decided to give away a sofa to someone facing hardship.

"There will be a family out there in Redditch who may have fallen on hard times this year and this is just something to give them with our best wishes from Dressing Rooms for 2014," she said.

"With the recession and all the doom and gloom about at the moment I just thought if everybody stopped and did something nice then maybe the world would be a nicer place."

To be eligible people need to nominate themselves, a friend or family member by searching for Dressing Rooms on Facebook. They should include details of why they are in need of a free sofa, their name and contact phone number.

Closing date for nomination is 5pm on Monday (December 23).
