A WOODROW First School pupil had a colourful Christmas designing the mayor’s cards.

Bethany Green, from Year 1, was picked from hundreds of children who had to create a winter or festive themed picture which would be transformed into a card.

Mayor Wanda King personally chose the five-year-old’s design and had it made into her Christmas cards which she has sent to dignitaries across the county.

A spokeswoman from the mayor’s office said Coun King was honoured to meet Bethany and loved the card.

Rebecca Hardisty, Key Stage 1 leader at the school, said: “Bethany was really excited to be chosen and her mother was over the moon.”
