A MAN has been banned from part of Redditch after a string of complaints about anti-social behaviour.
Stuart Whiteman Caswell, aged 34 and of Winyates, was subjected to an anti-social behaviour injunction in his absence by District Judge Khan at Worcester County Court on Wednesday (December 11).
Redditch Borough Council had applied for the injunction which runs for 12 months and bans him from the local area and places other restrictions on his behaviour.
The court heard Caswell’s behaviour had resulted in a string of anti-social behaviour reports and recent convictions including for assault and criminal damage.
As part of the injunction Caswell is banned from threatening, assaulting or otherwise interfering with a resident, or entering a defined area of Winyates bordered by Alders Drive, Warwick Highway, Winyates Way and Woodcote Close. If he breaches the order he could be arrested.
The council worked with West Mercia Police to compile evidence in the case.
Liz Bellaby, the council's anti-social behaviour manager, said: "The council sought this injunction to protect specific people from harm as well as to help address some wider issues of anti-social behaviour within a particular community.
"Residents should know that where it is necessary to protect the community, the council will pursue this type of action."
